Chances of getting into OT school in MA?

  • I was just wondering how competitive the MOT programs in MA are. I'm a sophomore right now and my gpa is a 3.2-3.3. I'm planning on getting 200-300 hours of volunteering/shadowing done by the end of college. I'm really worried about my lower gpa and I'm looking at primarily schools in ma like baypath, worcester state, american international college, or springfield. Any info on the competitiveness of those schools and my stats so far would be great! Thank you!

  • Hi Alan,

I am not from MA and am not very familiar with the schools there (aside from name only). My suggestion would be to contact the admissions office at each school and ask this same question. While they are specifically paid to try and recruit to their own program they also tend to be pretty honest about your chances of getting in with your GPA and plan for observation hours. Typically programs only recommend around 40 hours.
