I am currently pursuing my bachelors degree in Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology, I will be going into my third year this September. However, I've been doing some thinking (for awhile now) and am really interested and curious about Occupational Therapy. I have always loved what I was studying, and still do - I just feel like I need to get this desire to explore Occupational Therapy either out of my system or more seriously consider it before I get any further into my Speech-Path & Audiology major. I have tried going through hospitals and the University of Michigan, but I have had no luck finding anyone to shadow. I am hoping that someone can give me a contact of any type of Occupational Therapy that I may be able to shadow in the Michigan area, Detroit, Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids, or any area not far from those places. If I could get a contact, I would be very grateful.
Hi Katie, my question would be, have you shadowed any Speech therapist? If so you can always start there and ask if you can shadow a fellow OT so you can get an understanding on the collaboration and distinction in services. If I get a lead on a contact, i'll make sure to pass it on. Best of luck!
thank you Ms. Veronica for your reply. I have shadowed a Speech Therapist, it was a family friend and a couple of years back. She has relocated but I will ask her to let me know if she knows anyone in the area, great idea!
