PEOP MODEL

  • I need help to understand the PEOP model? any literature or information you can provide will really help me...

    Thanks

  • Joy,

Can you say a bit more about the type of help you are looking for? I assume you have read the basic descriptions of the model in OT texts etc.

Is there something in particular you are finding confusing or not understanding?

    Are you a student? Practitioner?

Applying conceptual practice models in context is often helpful to understanding them. What type of setting are you thinking about when applying this model?

  • THANKS Dr Braveman for responding..

I am a student. I have a test coming up and my teacher is really hard. My question should have been is there a big difference between peo and peop. Also is there anywhere I can find test questions or scenarios that are peo and peop based. . Our test are application type questions. I understand the model for the most part I am having difficulty figuring out questions to ask so I know that I can apply my knowledge.

    Thanks again for helping

  • Joy,

Have your read Chapter 43 of Willard & Spackman's Occupational Therapy (pg. 435-445)?

The chapter starts out by comparing models including PEO and PEOP and recognizes that there are many similarites but some differences.....

Both models are discussed in other chapters of the text as well.

I would suggest doing a side by side comparison of the models applied to a client that you understand and focus on what is the same between the models and what is different.........
