This is the first student that is coming to us/me at such an older age. She came from another county after hurricane Katrina. She is not wearing splints though parents state they have some at home. She doesn't finger feed due to crushing food with the gross grasp. Built up handled utensils, hand over hand to bring spoon/fork to her mouth. I've been getting up to date reading about Rhett and see skills continue to be lost over time. We're looking at adjusting the IEP to better reflect her needs and OT will support the teacher in functional hand use to include using the utensil. Any shared ideas, strategies, insights is always appreciated.

Wiki: Rett's Syndrome

Blog: Rett's Syndrome

Group: Rett's Syndrome

This group's purpose is to help professionals working with clients with Rett's Syndrome to share ideas, resources, information, and experiences.

Files: Rett's Syndrome

Forum: Rett's Syndrome
