tub bench for claw foot bathtub

  • Does anyone have any suggestions for a transfer bench that will fit an old claw foot bathtub?

  • I have had success with using a standard transfer bench with a low platform outside the tub.  I have made the platform out of various materials: plywood, cinderblocks covered with towels....also, a "Swedish bath board" can work well if your client is flexible enough.

  • I know this is a little late but maybe for future reference. I use the legs from a walker and slip them on the bench legs that go outside the tub. The are higher and does not present as a tripping hazard. Of course that means that you need access to walkers which we do as we have a community loaner closet for DME which is managed by volunteers under a secular branch.
