The Board of Directors of the American Occupational Therapy Foundation (AOTF) has announced the recipients of the scholarships that have been awarded to over 25 occupational therapy students around the country for 2012.

The Emerging Leaders Development Program provides leadership training and ongoing mentorship to new practitioners, as well as identifies needs for service within AOTA and matches those opportunities...

Abbey Sipp and Jessica Sweeny. Jessica told AOTA she is ready to get more involved in AOTA and the profession as a whole; she feels the Emerging Leaders program is a good way to do that.

Participants Nicole Sawyer and Nadine Kewbetchou. Nadine's long-term career goal is to start an organization around refugee resettlement. She will be exploring this avenue, and how to better use resources to focus on things like daily occupation and cultureal integration, with her mentor.
