NYSOTA

As Membership Chair of the New York State Occupational Therapy Association, I would like to invite all members and non-members to use this board to share thoughts, questions, ideas, and information on district events for Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Assistants, and students.

Membership is vital for our profession.  Membership dues are used to provide continuing education events, and professional activities at discounted rates.  In addition, a portion of your membership dues are used for legal fees associated with protecting your right to practice in New York State.

NYSOTA continues to work on having our new Practice Act passed.  The new Practice Act will allow practitioners to receive referrals from optometrists for low vision clients, direct access for practitioners working in non-medical areas of practice (schools, prevention services, ergonomic assessments), and will allow for occupational therapy assistants to become licensed in New York State.

If you are interested in joining NYSOTA, you can learn more information at our web site: www.nysota.org or by calling our office at 518-462-3717.

Sincerely,

Julie Ann Nastasi, OTD, OTR/L, SCLV

Membership Chair of NYSOTA
