That's wonderful news!! I came down for Hill Day in September as part of the student representation and I had an amazing experience. I'm glad to hear our efforts are paying off!

I would like to participate in the next call. I would like to bring some more ideas and ways to be involved back to our student population at CSS. We did a penny wars to raise money for AOTPAC last semester which was a success but still need more ideas for this semester and years to come. I will continue to check OT connections, etc. Thanks!!

Great to hear!!! We are doing something very similar in the state of Minnesota on Febuary 29th at the capital in St. Paul, MN. I am hoping we get a crowd and we too will be sharing the message about OT. I did a Skype session with the committee before the new year and they also seemed excited and eager about this opportunity. Can't wait for this great opportunity!!

These therapy caps are going to adversely affect an estimated 600,000 patients across the United States. Some of our most vulnerable clients will be unnecessarily affected, and you can help prevent this from happening by taking action now.

Congress has progressed in taking action to address the expiration of the therapy cap exceptions process. Under H.R. 3962, in Section 1231 of the Affordable Health Care for America Act and Section 3103 of the Patients Protection and Affordable Care Act (H.R. 3950) contain these extensions of the cap exceptions process.

Addressing the therapy cap is imperative at this time given the uncertainty of health care reform. I believe this issue is linked with the SGR fee schedule fix. I urge you to push for inclusion of a “therapy cap fix” done along with, in the same manner, and for the same duration as the fee schedule fix.

Thank you so much for all that you do! With the changes and reform that the government is planning in healthcare it is now more important than ever to contribute to the AOTPAC. I made my contribution of a dollar a day to AOTPAC at conference and encourage others to do so too. What does occupational therapy mean to you? The dollar a day campaign is a way to show your commitment to our profession.
