Happy Wednesday, OT Connectors! Hopefully you’re still
feelin’ the love of Monday’s Hallmark Holiday, and if not, well, come on over—I
have some extra candy hearts left on my desk that need some eating. We’ll chew
on some gummies and discuss the world of OT as we know it.
And OT as we know it seems to be getting closer and closer
to the various parts of our Centennial Vision, particularly the part about
being a powerful and widely recognized profession. To that end, AOTA past
president and current prof at Boston
University, Karen Jacobs,
made the news in a big way. She was quoted in this Wall Street Journal article, which has been picked up by a ton of
media outlets and is zinging around the Internet faster than you can say Living
Life To Its Fullest. Congrats, Dr. Jacobs!
In other, internal news, earlier this week I had a sit-down
with my powers-that-be to go over Conference coverage. Sure, many of you know
and love me from the Member
Resource Center,
but I’m so much more! Those recaps of
the Welcome Ceremony and Presidential Address? Oh yeah, that’s all me. And
those photos? Me…ermm….the photos are not of me, they’re of you, and truth be told, I only take some
of them. (The rest are taken by other staffers who love their camera just like
me.) So now my time at Conference has been carefully doled out between the Member Resource
Center and various and
sundry events for me to cover and photography. How about you? Have you planned out
your Conference schedule yet? What’s on it?
Less than two months until Philly…the countdown has begun!
